Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated “Madhya Pradesh ki Apni Bus-Sutra Sewa Yojana (MP ki Apni Bus-Sutra Sewa)” at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indore on 23 June 2018. Through this ambitious urban transport scheme, the departmental headquarters and remote areas of the state will be connected to Bhopal (the state capital). 'Sutra Sewa' scheme will be started.
This scheme will meet the demand of government buses in the state as well as meet the needs of public transport in the state. The “MP ki Apni Bus-Sutra Sewa Scheme” scheme of Madhya Pradesh will work in private partnership mode with the help of local bodies, state governments and the central government (Amrit Yojana).
Urban Transport Scheme will operate reliable, luxury and economical bus service between cities. Urban Transport Department will operate these buses for traveling to inter city and intera cities.
* In the first phase, the state government will launch this “Madhya Pradesh Ki Apni Bus-Sutra Sewa Yojana (MP ki Apni Bus-Sutra Sewa)” scheme in 20 selected cities.
* The state government will run a total of 127 buses in 16 municipal corporations and 4 municipalities. These 16 municipal corporations include Gwalior, Morena, Ujjain, Dewas, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Ratlam, Burhanpur, Singrauli, Katni, Chhindwara, Khandwa and Satna, while 4 municipalities include Bhind, Shivpuri, Guna and Vidisha.
* The Department of Urban Development and Housing will provide this economical bus service in and out of the cities.
* This scheme will be implemented through private partnership under “Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Scheme”.
* In order to provide safer and better transport services, the state government will equip these buses with advance technology like GPS, PIS and PAS.
* For the safety of women, panic buttons and cameras will be installed in all these buses and they will be connected to the control command center.
* All these buses will have a Public Grievance System and Head Control Command Center.
* Under this scheme, online ticket booking facility will also be available through mobile phone or official website.
The Urban Development and Housing Department has been given the responsibility of implementing this scheme properly and this department will also ensure that this economical bus service can be provided in the inner and outer areas of the cities.
This scheme has been run under the “Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation Scheme” and the scheme will be operated jointly by the local bodies, state government and central government.
With the launch of this scheme, now the people of Madhya Pradesh state will be able to get good transportation facility and these people will be able to move from one city to another without any problem.
