BBC Activity.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) encourages children in registered Child Care Centers and families to eat healthful meals and snacks. You will be reimbursed on a per-meal, per-child basis as a participating child care provider.

CACFP meal reimbursements give centers the tools they need to develop and augment their nutrition programs for their enrolled children.

The CACFP reimburses Adult Day Care Centers for offering nutritious meals to adults aged 60 and above, or who are physically or cognitively challenged, on a per-meal basis. Adult participants' qualifying impairments are those that impede their freedom and ability to carry out daily activities. CACFP meals provide adults with the nutrients they require while also assisting participating Centers in defraying the costs of serving meals as part of their daycare programme.

Both non-profit and for-profit community benefit organizations are eligible for financing from the BBC Foundation (CBO).

Public schools, child care centers, libraries, YMCAs, Boys and Girls Clubs, churches, community or recreation centers—anywhere kids go after school that has structured activities—are all places where CBOs are located.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a state and federally funded program that provides funding to licensed child care centers, adult daycare centers, and organizations that sponsor daycare homes in order to ensure that participants receive nutritious meals and snacks while in their care.

Funding is also available for emergency shelters and after-school programs to provide meals and snacks.

By making childcare more affordable for many low-income families, the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) helps to improve the quality of daycare for children and the elderly.

This federally financed program provides nutritious meals and snacks to 3.3 million youngsters every day. This program also feeds 120,000 adults who attend nonresidential adult day care centers with meals and snacks.

The CACFP also provides meals to children in homeless shelters, as well as snacks and suppers to youths engaging in qualified after-school programs.
