Brown joined management with Clyde in 1977 after a string of knee problems ended his playing career with Rangers, Dundee, and Falkirk. Brown played 16 times for the Dark Blues over his four and a half seasons at Dundee due to injuries. Brown signed a part-time contract with Falkirk in 1965 and later made 42 appearances for Brockville.
