Deepalaya was founded in 1979 by seven founding members with the goal of teaching disadvantaged girls. Our aim has shifted over time from solely giving education to assisting poor women, youth, and children in becoming self-sufficient through education and vocational training. We are the largest operating non-governmental organization in Delhi, with initiatives throughout Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The non-profit has been involved in the fight against illiteracy for almost three decades. Deepalaya thinks that "every child deserves a chance" and has worked hard to achieve this goal.
