Director Shankar Wiki and Bio:- Director Shankar was born on 17 August 1963 in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu. He is an Indian director who focuses on Tamil movies. Shankar Shanmugam is his whole name. In 1986, Shankar made his acting debut in the movies Seetha and Vasantha Raagam. In 1993, he made his directing debut with the movie Gentleman, for which he was honored with the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Director as well as the Filmfare Best Director Award. The next year saw the release of his romantic-action second picture, Kadhalan.

His subsequent two films, Mudhalvan and Indian, were huge commercial successes. Anniyan, his psychological suspense thriller, was published in 2005. His science-fiction film Enthiran, which he co-wrote with Rajinikanth, became the highest-earning Tamil film at the time. Its 2018 sequel, 2.0, is the sixth-highest-grossing Indian film and the tenth-highest-grossing Indian film globally. In 2023, Shankar is reunited with Kamal Haasan to work on Indian 2, the sequel to Indian.
