Granato said the process has been long enough for him to learn that his older brother, Tony, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and will begin treatment. Don Granato Wikipedia: - Don Granato was born on August 11, 1967, in Downers Grove, Illinois, United States. After playing with the then-named Madison Capitals of the United States Hockey League (USHL) for two years, Granato was recruited to play for the University of Wisconsin and played there for four years. He played two years with the Columbus Chill of the ECHL before retiring as a player to go into coaching after college. He was then hired by the Columbus Chill and then the Peoria Rivermen of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). He won the Kelly Cup as a coach with the Rivermen and was then promoted to head coach of Worcester. In March 2016, Granato took an assistant coaching position with the Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey team under his brother, Tony. He was hired as an assistant coach of the Buffalo Sabres.
