General fact

He announced his retirement from bobsleigh in the summer of 2016 to focus on his education and family. In December 2017, driver Peter Rico (SUI) called him to race that weekend at the European Championships in Innsbruck in the middle of the week. He pushed the sled to the eighth position. He completed the 2017/18 season, which included representing Switzerland at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, where he finished 14th in the quad. Then he withdrew again. He devoted himself to amateur cycling, but it was no longer the same. "I wanted another sporting challenge at the highest level."

It took a year for Badraun to get back to his best shape, working full time, having lost 20 kilograms of his cycling. In 2021, the top two Swiss drivers took their talents forward and they started driving again at European Cup level with Michael Kuonen and Switzerland-3.
