Gangubai Kathiawadi News:- 'Gangubai Kathiawadi,' starring Alia Bhatt, will be released in theatres very soon. However, even before its premiere, the picture was involved in controversy. The film is being opposed by Gangubai's relatives. Gangubai's family claims she worked for society, although she is represented as a sex worker. Since its premiere, the film's trailer has sparked debate. The character of Alia has received a lot of praise from the audience. Ajay Devgan also appears in the film. The film is set to be released on February 25th.
Actually, a suit was filed in a Mumbai court in 2021 against Gangubai's adoptive son Babu Raoji Shah 'Gangubai Kathiawadi.' Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt were summoned to the court during the hearing on this case. However, the Bombay High Court subsequently permitted the film's distribution.
Now, according to Babu Raoji Shah, Gangubai's son, in an interview with Aaj Tak, "My mother has been forced to work as a prostitute. People are now talking about my mum for no apparent reason." Simultaneously, Gangubai's granddaughter Bharti claims that the filmmakers are defaming her family for financial gain. He claimed that the family's permission was not obtained for the film. Furthermore, he was not granted permission to write the book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai.'
Narendra, Gangubai's family lawyer, stated, "The way Gangubai is depicted is inaccurate and without foundation. This is pornographic material. You portrayed a social worker as a prostitute. Which family would appreciate this? You turned her into a vamp and a woman don."
Narendra went on to say, "When the family learned that a film was being created on Gangubai's life, they went into hiding. They are renovating their home. Many families are wondering if Gangubai was truly a prostitute after seeing how she is portrayed in the film. Wasn't she supposed to be a social worker?"
"We have written notifications to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' writer Hussain Zaidi but have yet to get a response," Narendra said.
