Early Life: - On August 9, 1977, Udoka was born in Portland, Oregon. He went to Jefferson High School in Portland. Udoka attended Utah State University Eastern and the University of San Francisco before transferring to Portland State, where he was a standout for the Vikings.

Professional Career: - Udoka began his professional basketball career with the Charleston Lowgators, who picked him with the 39th overall choice in the 2002 NBDL Draft. On January 14, 2004, he was called up to the Los Angeles Lakers but was later dismissed. After a period in Europe, he returned to the United States and was conscripted in the NBDL once again. In the 2005 NBDL Draft, he was selected third overall by the Fort Worth Flyers. With the Flyers, he averaged 17.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Udoka was signed by the New York Knicks on April 6, 2006. On September 11, 2006, the Knicks released Udoka.
