Mahua Moitra is an Indian politician and investment banker who represents Krishnanagar in the Lok Sabha. She ran for and won the seat as an All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) candidate in the 2019 Indian general election. Moitra was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly for Karimpur from 2016 to 2019 and has previously served as the AITC's general secretary and national spokesman. Before entering politics, she worked as an investment banker. In 2009, he left his post as vice-president at JPMorgan Chase in London to enter Indian politics. She later joined the Indian Young Congress, the young branch of the Indian National Congress party, where she was one of Rahul Gandhi's trusted hands in the "Aam Admi Ka Sipahi" initiative.
She joined the All India Trinamool Congress party in 2010. In the 2016 Legislative Assembly elections, she was elected from the Karimpur constituency in the Nadia district of West Bengal. Mahua Moitra News:- On Friday (27 October), Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra told the Lok Sabha's Ethics Committee that businessman Darshan Hiranandani's affidavit against her was "scant on detail and provides no actual inventory" of the alleged gifts he claimed to have given her in exchange for asking questions in Parliament. Shri Hiranandani stated his willingness to appear before the committee in a public interview. "His affidavit, which is publicly available, is extremely sparse on detail and provides no actual inventory of what he has allegedly given me," Moitra noted in a statement.
