It is the drinking water scheme of Public Health Engineering Department, which after preparation by Public Health Engineering Department is handed over to voluntary organizations/NGOs/Gram Panchayats for operation of the scheme.

Janata Jal Yojana 2022, Pump Driver

According to the latest information received from the Public Health Engineering Department, at present a total of 6523 public water schemes are being operated in 31 districts (except Bikaner and Jaisalmer) through gram panchayats.
Monthly payment of remuneration amounting to Rs 5538 per source is being made on the basis of minimum wage rate of Rs.213 per day to all the part-time workers (pumpchalaks) working under Janata Jal Yojana.
Other expenses of the scheme (like electricity bill, maintenance and upkeep) are being borne by the grant amount received by the Gram Panchayat.

The basic objective of Janta Jal Yojana is to ensure drinking water system in rural areas of Rajasthan and along with this pump drivers are also getting employment opportunities.

Janata Jal Yojana 2022, Advantage

1. Electricity cost- Full amount is given for electricity expenditure on the basis of actual consumption.
2. Pump operator personnel (part-time workers) are being paid a total of Rs.2158 per month for pump operation on a per day basis (maximum for 26 days) of Rs.83.
3. Maintenance and Repair-

400/- per horsepower per year for submersible pump repair.
1000/- per year is being made available for repair of mono block pumps through Panchayat Samiti.

4.New Guidelines- At present, the departmental circular number F 165 (07) has been directed to make payment by Pr./SFC/04/2013-14/13116 dated March 30, 2015.
