Kamala Harris Career:- Harris was recruited as a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, California, in 1990, where she was hailed as a "capable prosecutor on the rise." Willie Brown, the Speaker of the California Assembly at the time, appointed Harris to the state Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and later to the California Medical Assistance Commission in 1994.
