KK performed in the Sir Gurudas Mahavidyalaya celebration in Nazrul Mancha, Kolkata, on May 31, 2022. He complained of feeling ill on the way back to his hotel following his performance when he experienced cardiac arrest. Attempts to resuscitate him at the hotel were futile, and he was transferred to the CMRI hospital in Kolkata, where he was proclaimed dead on arrival. At the time of his death, he was 53 years old. On June 1, 2022, the Kolkata Police Department files a case of unnatural death in connection with the death of singer KK. PM Narendra Modi, Akshay Kumar, and many other prominent celebs mourned his demise.

Playback Singing: - In 1994, he sent his demo tape to Louis Banks, Ranjit Barot, and Lesle Lewis in the hopes of getting a break in the music industry. He was approached by UTV and asked to sing a jingle for a Santogen Suiting advertisement. Over the course of four years, he sang over 3,500 jingles in 11 languages. In Mumbai, he got his first break singing jingles for UTV. He regards Lesle Lewis as his mentor because he gave him his first jingle to sing in Mumbai. KK debuted as a playback vocalist with A. R.
