Early Life & Career: - Lane began boxing while serving in the Marine Corps, eventually becoming the All-Far East welterweight champion. In 1960, he won the National Collegiate Athletic Association welterweight boxing championship. Lane was appointed Chief Deputy Sheriff of Investigative Services at the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in 1979.

In 1982, he was elected District Attorney, and in 1990, he was elected District Judge. On June 28, 1997, Lane officiated the fight Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson II between world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield and challenger Mike Tyson. The bout was going to be refereed by Mitch Halpern, but Tyson's camp objected. Judge Mills Lane presided over the court spectacle. Lane makes a debut on WWE Raw on November 16, 1998.
