Nusrat Munir Ul-Ghani was born in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan, on September 1, 1972. She is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wealden in East Sussex since 2015. She finishes her education at Bordesley Green Girls' School before enrolling at Birmingham City University, where she receives a BA in government and politics. She also pursues a master's degree in international relations at Leeds University.
She served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport and Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury. She was appointed as an Assistant Whip and Minister within the Department of Transport in January 2018. Ghani stated in 2022 that she was fired as transport minister in 2020 because she was Muslim.
