Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana 

The Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana was established to boost the quality of research in the country's numerous higher educational institutions. The Modi government launched the Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana in 2018. The Prime Minister's Research Fellowship Scheme aims to attract the brightest research talent by offering lucrative fellowship opportunities. Under this plan, all IITs, IISR, India Institute of Scientific, Bangalore, and certain other premier central universities (NITs) that offer science and technology degrees provide instruction and fellowship. The Hon'ble Education Minister, Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, has announced numerous changes to the Prime Minister's Fellowship Scheme. The key goal is for more students to be able to take advantage of this fellowship scheme. The Education Minister has cut the GATE score for its application from 750 to 650.

Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana Overview

The Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana has been launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Under this plan, 1000 B.Tech students would be offered the option to pursue a Ph.D. at IISc and IITs. Every year, up to 1000 outstanding candidates from premier institutes are identified through this scheme and offered the option to pursue a Ph.D. at IIT and the Indian Institute of Science. Not only that, but all of the selected citizen students will receive a generous fellowship. M.Tech and Ph.D. students can benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana. They will be paid Rs 75000 per month under this scheme. All of those students will benefit greatly from the Pradhan Mantri Research Fellowship Yojana 2022. Those who intend to pursue higher education. Most students must work after completing their B. Tech and are unable to pursue further education.

Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana 2022 Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must have completed higher education with passing grades or be in the final year of his education.
• To apply under the scheme, the candidate must be enrolled in or have finished the M.Tech degree within the last 5 years.
• The Prime Minister Fellowship Scheme is open to any candidate who has completed or is currently enrolled in a degree course of the UG PG exam.
• Only students who have finished their scientific and technology studies at IISc, IITs, NITs, or IISERs are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. fellowship programme.
• The candidate must have at least eight out of ten CGPA or CPI scores.

Pradhan Mantri Fellowship Yojana 2022 Benefits

• Beneficiary students will receive a 7000 per month stipend under this scheme for the first two years. Following that, the fellowship amount will be 75000 in the third year and 80000 in the fourth year.
• All students seeking a PhD through the Prime Minister's Fellowship Scheme will be reimbursed for their international travel fees in order to deliver their research papers. Every five-year fellow will get a research grant of $200,000.00. Last year, the government set aside Rs 1650 crore for this plan over a seven-year period.
