Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2022 is an initiative undertaken by Indian Government which focuses on providing financial assistance to the farmers of the country.

The scheme aims on augmenting the income of the farmers by providing a helping hand in the form of Rs. 6000. This would also shelter them from falling at the mercy of moneylenders to manage their expenses and gives surety of their livelihood.

As committed by the honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has transferred over Rs. 20,000 Crore as the 10th installment to the beneficiaries covered in this scheme.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2022 Overview

Agriculture sector of India contributes more than half towards the economy of the country. The hands behind this contribution are the farmers. The farmers who fulfill hunger of others but themselves starve due to low income generation capacity. Therefore to address this issue, initially Government of Telangana launched Rythu Bandhu scheme, where a certain amount was deposited in the account of the eligible farmers. The scheme was positively accepted and inspired by which Government of India decided to implement it as a nationwide project.

On February, 2019, it got recognition by the announcement made by Mr. Piyush Goyal during the Interim Budget of India, 2019.

The objective of the scheme is to augment the income of the Small and Marginal Farmers (SMFs) and assist the farmers in procuring raw materials and other inputs to produce the agricultural output.

Rs. 6000 per year will be given to the eligible farmers in 3 installments and will be directly credited in their bank accounts.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2022 Registration Process

1. Visit the official website https://pmkisan.gov.in/ and click on the section named ‘Farmers   

              Corner’.

       2. Go to the tab named ‘New Farmer Registration. The registration page will open.

       3. First the registration page will verify if the farmer is already registered or not.

       4. For the purpose of verification, the farmer has to select either ‘Rural Farmer registration’  

              or ‘Urban Farmer registration’.

       5.Enter the Adhaar number, select state from the drop down list, enter the letter from captcha  

       and then click on the button named ‘Search’.

       6. If the database does have farmer’s information then he is eligible for registration. The page will show a confirmation whether you want to register yourself. The desirous farmer needs to click on ‘Yes’.

       7. The registration page will open asking the personal and bank details of the farmer. After entering the correct details, click on ‘Save’ button.

       8. If someone is not in the possession of a computer/mobile, they can visit the nearby e-mitra and ask the person to either fill your application form or download the form for you.

       9. The farmers can also download the mobile app ‘PMKISAN’ and register themselves for the scheme. Choose the language from the list and register as per instructions mentioned above.

1. Adhaar card.
2. Proof of citizenship.
3. Bank account details.
4. Land ownership documents.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2022 Application form

The farmers can apply for this scheme in the following ways:

1. The eligible farmers can seek guidance for the purpose of registration for this scheme with the revenue officials, village Patwaris or other authorized officers by giving the required details to them.
2. The eligible farmers can even pay a visit at their nearest Common Service Centres (CSCs) for registration. They will have to pay the requisite fees.
3. The eligible farmers can also do perform self-registration process on the PM KISAN portal as already discussed above.
4. The details that are required to be provided for registration are:

• Name.
• Gender.
• Age.
• 10 digits Mobile number.
• Category (SC/ST).
• Aadhaar Number
• Bank Account Number of the applicant to get the financial assistance.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2022 Eligibility criteria

• Under the scheme, all the family members (husband, wife and minor children) who are land owners are eligible to enjoy the benefits of the scheme.
• The category of persons who are excluded from the eligibility criteria are as follows:

1. Institutional Landholder.
2. Present and former Ministers, State Ministers, Chairpersons of District Panchayats, Mayors of Municipal Corporations, Members of Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha or State Legislative Assemblies or State Legislative Councils.
3. All serving or retired employee and officers of Central or State Government Ministries or Offices or Departments and its field units or Central/State PSEs and attached offices or autonomous institutions under government and employees of the local bodies. (Excluding Class IV/Multi Tasking Staff/Group D employees).
4. All superannuated or retired pensioner with a monthly pension of Rs.10,000 and above.
5. Every person who has lawfully paid income tax in the assessment year.
6. Professionals carry out professional practices like doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountants and architects.
