Prayas NGO

Prayas is a non- governmental organization situated in Delhi, India. It was established in June 1988 by Amod Kanth, ex-DCP of Delhi, after a fire broke out in the transitory homes and frail havens worked by youngsters in Delhi's Jahangirpuri slumarea. The ex- Director General of Police (DGP) of Arunachal Pradesh unit and DCP for Crime in Delhi, posted at Amod K Kanth, Delhi, when the fire broke out and as a feature of his obligation visited the fire site and was worried for the prosperity of youngsters.

Furthermore this prompted the introduction of Prayas in a room in Jahangirpuri, with the assistance of companions from the Delhi Police and the Delhi School of Social Work.
