Under his leadership, ISRO completed the third Indian lunar exploration mission, Chandrayaan-3. On August 23, 2023, at 18:04 IST, the lander Vikram and the rover Pragyan landed in the lunar South Pole area, making India the first country to successfully land a spacecraft near the lunar South Pole and the fourth country to show a soft landing on the Moon.
