She was appointed as the Global Autism Advocate to the World Health Organization's 25-member Expert Advisory Panel on Mental Health in 2014 for 4 years. She graduated from Barry University. Saima Wajed is the daughter of the current Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. And her father M.A. Wazed Miah is a physicist and author of several treatises in physics. Saima Wazeed is the chairperson of the National Advisory Committee on Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. She dreamed of doing something out of the box and started working with autism. In 2017, she was awarded the International Champion Award for her contributions to autism. He then won an award from Barry University for her activism. She was appointed as an honorary teacher at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in 2022.
