On Sunday night, 28 May 2023, a brutal murder took place of a 16-year-old girl (Sakshi Sinha) in northwest Delhi's Shahbad Dairy at the hands of a man who claimed to be her boyfriend (Sahil Khan), according to reports, the girl and the boy had a fight in between them a day before, and Sakhi Sinha warned him to stay away from her. Apart from this, Sahil Khan also saw a tattoo of another boy’s name on her forearm and lost his mind, one of Sakhi Sinha's friends told the police officials that Sahil Khan was angry with Sakshi Sinha for not speaking to him and her friendship with an old friend named Praveen made him more jealous, and after the fight between the two, the boy lost all hope of being friends with her again and planned of the murder.
According to the CCTV footage that went viral over the news and social media, it was seen that Sahil Khan was roaming around the street and waiting for Sakshi Sinha, the moment she returned from the market and went to a public toilet to change her clothes as she was headed for a birthday party, Sahil Khan started stabbing her with a long knife in a lane in E block around 8.40 pm. Sahil Khan kept stabbing her brutally around 34 times while dozens of people walked past without intervening, he also hit her head 3 times with a slab and ensured that Sakhi Sinha is dead because there was no one to stop him out of fear.

Sadly, about half an hour later when Sakhi murdered by Sahil, the police officials reached the crime scene and took her to the hospital where Sakshi Sinha was declared dead on arrival by the doctors, on the other hand, the murderer Sahil Khan in the mean time fled to Uttar Pradesh (UP) after committing the crime to his hometown Bulandshahr and used her aunt's cell phone to call his father who was eventually with the police officials at that time.
The police officials immediately rushed to Bulandshahr and Sahil Khan was finally taken into custody on 29 May 2023, on Monday afternoon through tracking his cell phone location from which he called, and sources claim that the police were unaware of the incident as they did not receive any PCR call but instead, a local informed the constable around 9:15 pm personally over the phone after which police officials reached the location.
