The Chhattisgarh state government has launched a new scheme in the state for the convenience of smartphone users. To alleviate the digital divide among inhabitants, the state administration has chosen to deliver cellphones at no cost to all people. Sanchar Kranti Yojana, or SKY, will be implemented in the state soon. 

Let us remind you that the Chhattisgarh government handed the first three out of fifty lakh smartphones under the central government's ambitious Kranti CG Sanchar Kranti Yojana of Rs 1467.90 crore in order to bridge the digital divide to the lowest rate in the country of 29 percent. The initiative will distribute phones to around 40 lakh women in villages with a population of more than 1,000 people, five lakh women from BPL (below poverty line) families in urban areas, and five lakh college students.

The scheme was launched during the last week of August 2017. Chhattisgarh state government has started this scheme. A new committee was formed by the Chief Secretary to implement this SKY scheme across the state.

CG Sanchar Kranti Yojana 2022 Eligibility Criteria

• This scheme will be available to people who fall below the poverty line or have a low income. People who live in rural areas or who are rural will also be eligible.
• These individuals will also be eligible for this scheme if their annual income does not exceed Rs 2 lakh.
• The programme will be adopted in schools and universities as well. The scheme is open to students and women in the household.
• The smartphone will be registered in the name of the household's lady, according to the proposal. The phone will be registered only on the female member of the household, whether she is a student, employed, or not.
• The CM stated that comparable services would be provided to people of the third gender. This project was launched with the goal of expanding digital connectivity.

• The Sanchar Kranti Yojana was created to bridge the digital divide among the citizens of the state. Under this initiative, about 5.5 million cellphones will be distributed to residents of the state's rural and urban areas.
• The scheme's major goal is to connect individuals via the internet and to encourage people to go cashless. Make digital payments as well as receive payments via net transfer.
• The Panchayat and Rural Development Department will oversee the scheme's implementation in rural areas. The Urban Development Department, on the other hand, will be in charge of carrying out the strategy in urban areas.
• This initiative will also be implemented in rural and far rural areas. This project will also cover small settlements with a population of less than 1000 people.
