Save the Children India

Save the Children India is a Non Profit Organization working in the direction and focuses on improving the living standards of children belonging to India. The organization was established in 2008 as Bal Raksha Bharat. It was registered as an NPO under the Societies Registration Act, 1861.

Save the Children is running unofficially since 1940 but in 2008 it got officially recognized as Bal Raksha Bharat. With its continuous efforts, it has taken care of 10.1 million children.

The NPO aims at providing the basic necessities of life to the kids belonging from the poorest rural areas to urban areas. It covers services like education, healthcare, services during emergencies, protection of child from abuse and labor.

NGO founder

The birth of this organization was back then with the end of First World War in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb who had this idealogy that every child deserves right to live a healthy and prosperous life. She launched a movement naming Save the Children Fund.

The movement kept on helping the children by providing whose lives got affected due to world wars. In 2004, Tsunami struck in India, Save the Children supported the country with its rapid relief.

In 2008, the organization became the member of the international Save the Children Alliance
