Sense International India

Sense International India (also known as Sense India) is the only national-level organization that supports needs-based programmes that help children and adults with deafblindness overcome their disabilities. Sense International India's main goal is to give the necessary information, counseling, support, and training to people with deafblindness and various impairments, as well as their families, by increasing awareness and lobbying for rights, opportunities, and services across the country.

Sense International India was founded in 1997 as India's first national non-governmental organization dedicated to the provision of comprehensive services and training for persons who are deafblind. Sense International India now works in 23 Indian states with a network of 59 partner NGOs.  The headquarters of sense International India is 2nd Floor, Admin Block, Andhjan Mandal Campus, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad 380015, Ahmedabad, 380015, Gujarat, India.

In the previous 22 years, Sense India has reached out to over 78,000 people with deafblindness and various impairments as a result of this well-planned and continuous effort.

Sense International India is led by Akhil S. Paul, who is also a founder member. He was the former Vice President of Deafblind International (DBI), a global organization dedicated to deafblind people's needs. He's also a founding member of the National Trust for the Welfare of People with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and Multiple Disabilities' Board of Directors. He was also honored with the HSBC-Indo British Award in 2003 for his remarkable contributions to India's deafblind community. At the renowned Lakshmipat Singhania - IIM Lucknow National Leadership Awards, he also earned the Young Leader Award in the field of Community Service and Social Upliftment.
