Shah Mahmood Wikipedia:- Famous Pakistani politician Shah Mahmood Qureshi was born in Multan, Pakistan, on June 26, 1956. Makhdoom Sajjad Hussain Qureshi, the father of Qureshi, served in the Pakistani Senate. In the 1985 Pakistani General Election, Qureshi was elected for the first time from Multan to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab. After Nawaz Sharif declined to provide him a ticket in 1993, he joined the Pakistan Peoples Party and was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan for the very first time from the same constituency. Benazir Bhutto, the prime minister at the time, appointed him Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.
He was named Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's first vice-chairman on December 4, 2011. He was re-elected to the Pakistani National Assembly in 2013. Qureshi joined Imran Khan's cabinet as the Minister of Foreign Affairs following his victory in the 2018 General Election. Following his victory in the 2018 General Election, PTI put Qureshi forward for the Speaker of the National Assembly position. Nevertheless, despite Imran Khan's convincing, he refused to accept the position. He is one of three well-known politicians from Multan District; the other two are Javed Hashmi and Yousaf Raza Gillani. When the Indian Air Force carried out an airstrike on Balakot, Pakistan, in February 2019, he denounced the operation and identified it an ‘act of aggression’.
