Tan Sri Azlan Zainol was a Corporate Personality. The former Chief Executive (CEO) of the EPF (Employees Provident Fund)
According to a letter from his family, the father of four died in Assunta Hospital here at 2.40pm. He was reported to have received treatment there for a long time.
His remains will be carried to the Saidina Abu Bakar Mosques in Jalan Ara, Bangsar at 8 a.m. tomorrow for burial at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery in SS1, Kg Tunku.

Tan Sri Azlan Zainol died on January 12, 2023, at the age of 72. According to a statement issued by his children, the disease was detected only recently.
Azlan was the chairman of many companies, including Malaysian Builder Society Bhd (MBSB) and MBSB Bank, as well as the Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd.
He was also the director of RHB Bank Bhd and EcoWorld till last year, in addition to holding directorships in a number of publicly traded firms.
On January 11, 2010, he stepped down as a chairman of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) in response to allegations of 1MDB's mismanagement and the emergence of investor Low Taek Jho, best known as Jho Low.
Azlan and Bakke noted issues so over idea that 1MDB was not taking the board's opinions seriously but instead was asking for directions "from outside".
Formerly 1MDB CEO Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi revealed in former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's corruption trial that all Azlan one and other director, Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh, had voiced concerns about the sustainability and legitimacy of the company's investments.
As EPF's CEO from 2001 to 2013, Azlan also promoted the fund to actively invest abroad, with its foreign interests increasing to US$6 billion (RM26 billion) throughout his tenure. – The Vibes, 12 January 2023.
