On Thursday, October 27th 2022, Elon Musk became the new owner of Twitter Inc, though with this 44 billion dollar (USD) acquisition some immediate actions were seen to be taken from Elon Musk’s end that included the firing of current top executives from Twitter Inc, and in the list was Chief Executive Parag Agarwal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, and Head of the Legal Affairs & Policy Chief Vijaya Gadde.
Elon Musk accused the top executives of misleading him over the counts of the fake account reported and providing little or no clarity over achieving the outlined ambitions through the help of the social media platform Twitter.
Elon Musk further added that he wants to completely “defeat” the spam bots on Twitter, this problem has been stated many times by the CEO of electric car maker Tesla in recent times when he planned to buy the social media platform Twitter in April and also retweeted earlier with a “Poop emoji” over a tweet of former CEO Parag Agarwal on the internal spam bot detection process of Twitter.
After the termination of top executives, Elon Musk has not yet revealed anything about who is going to fill the vacant top positions at Twitter Inc to ensure that the company is going on the right track.
Though, he said that he plans to cut jobs, leaving the company with approximately 7,500 employees which made everyone a bit shocked and led them to worry about their job security.
But, later on, it was confirmed from Twitter’s end that there is no such planning of cutting down the jobs at Twitter and only the names of top executives that have been disclosed have left the company.
Elon Musk, on Thursday also said that the ultimate goal of buying the microblogging platform Twitter is not to make money but “to try help humanity, whom I love.”.
Soon after the new ownership of Twitter, Elon Musk was congratulated by the CEO of Paytm Vijay Shekhar over Twitter where he said that everyone is having lots of expectations and he is sure Musk will build an online town square for everyone.
Author Chetan Bhagat also tweeted by saying that now as Twitter has new ownership, the place is going to be more fun again and the domination of negativity-spreading troll ganglords will end because of this many have paused tweeting or have left the platform.
Elon Musk also tweeted that “Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in.”, which somewhat shows his future plans.
Big names, sure have said positive things about the new ownership of Twitter, but on the other hand, when the CEO Parag Agarwal got fired the very best trolls came from Indians over priority to government jobs in typical Indian societies.
