The IAS officer has been named as the chairman of the state government's 5T and Nabin Odisha initiative, according to an order released by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department of Odisha.

VK Pandian Wikipedia:- VK Pandian, a former IAS officer, and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's private secretary, has been granted an influential position in the Odisha cabinet. On October 23, he announced his voluntary retirement. He began his career in 2002 as the sub-collector of Dharmagarh in Kalahandi. He is an Odisha cadre IAS officer from the 2000 batch. In 2005, he was designated as the Mayurbhanj collector; the following year, he was assigned as the Ganjam collector. He gained the Chief Minister's trust while serving as an officer in Ganjam. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare awarded him the National Award for Working for Persons with AIDS while he was a collector in Ganjam.

The prime minister has also twice awarded him the National Award for NREGS, which goes to Ganjam, the best district in the nation. After beginning work at the Chief Minister's Office in 2011, he was elevated to the position of private secretary to Naveen Patnaik. After leaving the civil services, Pandian who had served as chief minister Naveen Patnaik's private secretary since 2011 was assigned to a cabinet-rank post. Rivals of the BJD chief have criticized him for becoming his most trusted advisor and accused him of abusing his position as a bureaucrat.
