Janani Suraksha Yojana Overview
This programme is only available to women who are living in poverty. All women interested in participating in this programme must apply online at the official website. The government has classified pregnant women into two categories under the Janani Suraksha Yojana 2022. On this basis, the government would grant financial help to them. The following are some of these categories:-
Pregnant Women in Rural Areas:
The government would provide financial help of Rs 1400 to all pregnant women who are living below the poverty line at the time of delivery under the Janani Suraksha Yojana. ASHA assistants will receive $300 for delivery incentive and $300 for post-delivery support.
Pregnant Women of Urban Areas:
All pregnant mothers would receive a cash help of 1000 rupees at the time of delivery under this scheme. ASHA Sahayak will also receive 200 rupees as a delivery incentive and another 200 rupees for providing post-delivery assistance.
Janani Suraksha Yojana Registration Process 2022
Pregnant women in India who are interested in receiving financial support from the government through the Janani Suraksha Yojana 2022 must first download the Janani Suraksha Yojana application form PDF from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's official website. After downloading the application form, you must fill in the requested information, such as the woman's name, village name, and address. After filling out all of the required information, you must attach all of your documents to the application form and submit it to an Anganwadi or Women's Health Center.

Janani Suraksha Yojana Required Eligibility Criteria 2022
- Pregnant women from both rural and urban areas of the country are eligible to participate in this programme.
- The government would only grant financial aid to pregnant mothers who are 19 years old or older under this scheme. Anyone under the age of 18 is not permitted to enrol.
- They only have to go to government hospitals or any private institute that the government chooses if they are enrolled in JYS.
- Under the Janani Suraksha Yojana 2021, the government would provide all medical and financial assistance to expectant women in order for them to have only two children.
- Premature or mid-term births of live infants will be treated as genuine cases if the pregnant mother gives birth to a stillborn child. Women will be provided money as promised under the scheme.
- Benefits will be granted to women who fall below the country's poverty level under this scheme.
Janani Suraksha Yojana Benefits 2022
- Pregnant women who give birth at home with the assistance of Anganwadi or ASHA doctors. These candidates will receive a monetary award of Rs.500.
- The JSY has been implemented in all states and union territories, with the primary purpose of developing underperforming states such as Bihar, Orissa, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, MP, UP, Jammu and Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh.
- JSY 2021 is a cash-assistance programme that is entirely funded by the government.
- All women who register for the Janani Suraksha Yojana 2021 will receive at least two free antenatal check-ups. In addition, ASHA and Anganwadi staff would be provided with associated services during the post-delivery period.
