Marcel Zanini was born on 9 September 1923 in Istanbul, Turkey, and took his last breath on 18 January 2023 in Paris, France at the age of 99, he was basically a Turkish-born French jazz musician whose family arrived in 1930 to Marseille for settling down there, he started learning the clarinet in 1942 to later join the orchestra of Leo Missir in 1946. Marcel Zanini in the early 1950s founded his first band after which he left for the United States in 1954 and lived in New York for four years, in the United States he worked for the French magazine Jazz Hot as a correspondent, and in 1958 he returned to Marseille.
