About Ponniyin Selvan I (PS-I) Movie (2022):- Ponniyin Selvan I (PS-I) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language epic historical action film directed by Mani Ratnam, stars Elango Kumaravel and B. Jayamohan assisted with the writing. It is the first of two films based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan, produced by Ratnam and Subhaskaran Alliraja through Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. The video portrays the narrative of Arulmozhivarman, who subsequently became Rajaraja Chola I, the famous Chola ruler.
Ponniyin Selvan, a film version of Kalki Krishnamurthy's historical novel of the same name, was announced by M. G. Ramachandran in 1958. In 2020, Ramachandran paid $10,000 for the film rights to the novel.
Amazon Prime Video paid Rs 125 crore for the film's digital streaming rights. Sun TV has also purchased the satellite rights.

Ponniyin Selvan, according to Kalki, is historical fiction. Vandiyathevan, one of the story's key protagonists, is not extensively represented in Chola inscriptions. It is true, however, that he married Princess Kundavai. Nandini is a completely fictitious figure.
