Rythu Bandhu is a transparent per acre investment assistance scheme for farmers.
Telangana government will pay Rs 10,000 annually in 2 equal installments to be deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Earlier, orders for payment of Rs 5,000 per crop season were issued to farmers.
Out of the total 71.75 lakh farmers of the state, about 61.49 lakh farmers are getting benefited from this scheme.
Telangana government has made a provision of Rs 14000 crore specifically for Rythu Bandhu Investment Support Scheme and now Rs 7,515 crore will be released from 28 December 2020 to 7 January 2021.
The scheme is covering 1.52 crore acres of agricultural land as the ownership of this land is clearly established and recorded.
Rythu Samanvaya Samiti will give this assistance to the farmers through online mode (through a bank bearer cheque). Agricultural Extension Officials (AEOs) constantly monitor the distribution of checks in Rythu Bandhu at the village/village level. These AEOs also take the responsibility of entering the check details on the tablet computer provided.
The state government of Telangana had decided to transfer the amount under the Rythu Bandhu scheme directly into the bank accounts of the farmers. Now Telangana Rythu Bandhu Scheme payment is done online. The state government will not issue any more checks for the farmers as it was done in the first and second installments of Rythu Bandhu Yojana 2018.
CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) mentioned that an increased amount of Rs 5,000 per season would be distributed. Last year, CM KCR raised an assistance amount of Rs 8,000 per acre to Rs 10,000 per acre in a year as a cash incentive.
This initiative is helpful in ending all land disputes of farmers.
Telangana government had completed the entire process in just 100 days on the basis of speedy handling.
This complete passbook preparation process was done in 3 phases and every information was made available in the respective Gram Panchayats (GPs).
The state government had approached each farmer to verify their actual ownership. The state government scrutinized all the objections and made necessary amendments.
Now all the records on Dharani website are saved in digital format. These records will now be treated as single evidence in all land record cases.
These 2 initiatives will redefine the future of agriculture in the state as well as across the country. Both these initiatives are never seen before for the welfare of the farmers.
