Julieta Lanteri was born on this day in 1873 in Italy. When she was six years old, her family moved to Argentina. She was the first female student at the National School of La Plata, and she later studied pharmacology at the University of Buenos Aires. She received her medical degree in 1907, making her one of Argentina's first five female doctors! Julieta Lanteri spent a decade working for the Buenos Aires Public Aid Bureau, as well as the Emergency Hospital and Dispensary.
